darling book, precious education

The booklet is a delight to read. I feel supported and encouraged in my sacred calling as a wife and mother. I've been searching for truth for years and 7 children later I've finally found what I was looking for. I feel like I've been with a dear, wise friend! Better now than never- so excited to share with my daughters one day. Till then they will get to absorb my example- I can see a difference in my attitude and in the manner in which I mother since I found "above rubies". My children can sense the difference and as a byproduct of my change we have greater peace and love in our home. Highly recommended reading! Thank you and praise God!

At a recent retreat I purchased this manual, but I was not prepared for what I would read inside! We have four children (so far) and I have always insisted that the best way to raise children is to get them on a schedule ASAP! This is the advice I've given to lots of women as well and I always judged women who were raising "dependent" children. It never occurred to me that there might be a different, better, way. To be honest, I felt like throwing this book across the room and I often felt my flesh rearing it's ugly head! "What about me? What about MY time and MY body? What will people think about this? How can I change?" This book opened my eyes to the fact that God is INFINITELY wiser than me and that HIS way is the BEST way. It makes sense to me (now) that we want to raise "dependent" children, we want them to know that we (and God) will meet their needs. I was convicted from Scripture, versus what I considered (strange) people's opinions. I will be re-reading this and passing it on to other mothers I know. Should we be blessed with more children, my husband and I have agreed that we will do it God's way! That being said, I am still scared. It's so far from anything I've ever known, but I believe that God is bigger than any fear, or objection, I may currently have. Blessings to all on this journey!
